Miri Port scored yet another significant milestone as the year ends after being adjudged the winner of “National Quality Environment Award 2010” in the public service category. It was indeed a proud moment for State of Sarawak and an endorsement of Sarawak State Civil Service excellence.A total of 132 organisations both from public and private sectors participated in the award. The award was presented by Datuk Dr. Rabecca Fatima Sta Maria, Secretary General of Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) on 21st December 2010 held at Hilton Petaling Jaya Hotel , Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The winning edge for Miri Port being its ability to inculcate the “total employee engagement kaizen culture” through the implementation of Quality Environment (QE) system harnessing on each and every employee’s strength by believing that the sum total of all is greater than parts to solve workplace problems, improving efficiency and boosting bottom line.
